Toolbox Talk: Keep the Dust Down

Introductory · Course MIG-TBT-007

A 10-minute crew briefing on controlling respirable silica dust when you cut or grind.

This is a Migna Safety Solutions course with a Migna certificate of completion. It is not OSHA Outreach Training and does not include a Department of Labor card.

A short toolbox talk on silica dust control at the point of work: wet cutting, vacuum dust collection, never dry-sweeping silica dust, standing upwind, and why the particles that hurt you are the ones you can't see. This talk supplements your employer's full silica program — it does not replace it. It specifically does NOT satisfy the employee information and training requirement of 29 CFR 1926.1153, and it is not a substitute for your employer's written exposure control plan or the training your employer must provide. Its purpose is to document that this specific talk was delivered. Issues a Migna certificate of completion.

Seat time is enforced on our servers. The clock is calculated from signed progress events rather than in your browser, so it cannot be sped up — a certificate that states 5 minutes of training means it.

This certificate does not expire on a clock

The standard behind this course sets no fixed retraining interval, so we do not print one. Retraining is triggered by events instead — a new hazard, a changed process, or an observed deficiency. Your employer or insurer may set their own interval, which is a real obligation but not a federal one.
