The questions we get asked most. If yours is not here, send us a message — a person reads every one.
Courses and certificates
- Do your certificates count as an OSHA card?
No, and we would rather say so plainly than have you find out later. This certificate of completion does not fulfill OSHA Outreach Training Program requirements unless the training was delivered by an OSHA-authorized provider or trainer. This document is not a Department of Labor card.
An OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 DOL card can only be issued through an OSHA-authorized Outreach provider. If a DOL card is what you need, buy from an authorized provider — that is the correct answer even though it is not us.
Everything else in our catalog — hazard-specific training, competent person courses, supervisor training — issues a Migna certificate of completion with a publicly verifiable number. That is the document employers keep on file to evidence training under the standard the course covers.
- Why does my certificate have no expiry date?
Because the standard behind that course does not set a retraining interval. We only print an expiry when a regulation actually requires one — for example annual bloodborne pathogens retraining, or the three-year interval for powered industrial truck operators.
Where a standard is silent, retraining is triggered by events instead: a new hazard, a changed process, or an observed deficiency. Printing a date in that situation would state a compliance clock that does not exist, so we do not. Your employer or your insurer may still set their own interval, and that is a real obligation — just not a federal one.
- Why can't I skip ahead?
Courses enforce seat time, and the clock is calculated on our servers rather than in your browser, so it cannot be sped up. Most safety training standards are written in hours, and a certificate saying you completed two hours of training has to mean it.
Your progress is saved continuously. You can close the tab and come back — you will not lose credit for time already earned.
- How long do I have to finish?
The access window is shown on every course page before you buy, and on your dashboard afterwards. Most courses give 90 days. If your access is about to run out, the player warns you.
- I failed the final exam. What now?
Each quiz has a set number of attempts, shown before you start. If you use them all on a required quiz, use the “Report a problem” link inside the course and we will look at your record — that is a conversation with a person, not an automatic refusal.
Spanish courses
- Are the Spanish courses a full translation?
Yes. Every Spanish course carries the same modules, the same seat time, the same number of quiz questions and the same regulatory citations as its English counterpart — we check that automatically before anything ships, including that every exposure limit matches to the digit. A learner who takes the course in Spanish also receives a Spanish certificate.
- Can I switch a course between English and Spanish?
Choose the language on the course page before you buy. The language is fixed once you enrol, because your certificate records the language you were trained in. If you bought the wrong one, contact us and we will sort it out.
Teams and billing
- Can I buy training for my crew?
Yes — buy seats in bulk and invite people by email as you need them. Your company dashboard shows who has completed what and whose certificates are coming up for renewal, which is usually the part that matters at audit time.
- What is your refund policy?
If a course is not what you expected, tell us. If something on our side broke, that is straightforwardly our problem to fix or refund. See the terms for the formal version.
- Do you charge sales tax?
Where we are required to. Digital training is taxable in some states and exempt in others; any tax due is shown at checkout before you pay.
Something is broken
- A course will not load, or a quiz will not submit
Use the “Report a problem with this course” link at the bottom of any course page while you are signed in. It sends us the course, the version and the section you were on, so we do not have to ask you to reconstruct it.
If you cannot get into the course at all, use the contact form.
- I did not get my verification or certificate email
Check spam first. You can re-send the verification email from the sign-in page. If a certificate email has not arrived, your certificate is still available for download from your dashboard — the email is a convenience, not the record.
- Someone asked me to verify a certificate
Every certificate carries a number and a QR code. Enter the number at /verify to confirm it is genuine, current, and not revoked. No account needed.
Still stuck?
If you are inside a course, the “Report a problem” link at the bottom of the page is the fastest route — it tells us exactly where you were. Otherwise use the contact form.
