Fall Protection Competent Person

The next step beyond awareness. This course delivers the competent-person body of knowledge for fall protection in construction: the duty to have fall protection and the 6-foot trigger, passive and active systems and the specs a competent person verifies, the ABCDs of personal fall arrest, the clearance and swing-fall math that decides whether a system saves a life or lets a worker hit the ground, equipment inspection and removal-from-service criteria, prompt rescue planning, and running a fall protection program with real stop-work authority. Read this before you begin: a course cannot MAKE you a competent person. Under OSHA a competent person is DESIGNATED BY THE EMPLOYER — based on training, hands-on experience, AND the authority to identify hazards and take prompt corrective action, including stopping work. This course teaches that body of knowledge and, on passing, issues a Migna certificate that SUPPORTS your employer's designation; it does not create the designation by itself. It is also distinct from a QUALIFIED person — typically an engineer — who designs anchorages and horizontal lifelines. Issues a Migna certificate of completion with a publicly verifiable certificate number.
