OSHA Outreach training — the 10- and 30-hour Department of Labor cards — is only valid when delivered by an OSHA-authorized provider. This course is in development and is not available to buy. The authorized provider will be named on this page before it goes on sale.
Online training alone does not meet 29 CFR 1910.120. Your employer must also provide hands-on training, access to a qualified trainer, and — for the 40-hour course — three days of supervised field experience before you work on a hazardous-waste site.
The 24-hour HAZWOPER course under 29 CFR 1910.120(e)(3)(ii)-(iii), for workers on site only occasionally for a specific limited task, or who work in areas monitored and kept below exposure limits.

A worker who later takes on duties raising their exposure must be brought up to the 40-hour level — the tier follows the actual work.
