Online training alone does not meet 29 CFR 1910.120. Your employer must also provide hands-on training, access to a qualified trainer, and — for the 40-hour course — three days of supervised field experience before you work on a hazardous-waste site.
The additional 8 hours of specialized training required by 29 CFR 1910.120(e)(4) for on-site management and supervisors who direct workers engaged in hazardous waste operations. Covers the employer's safety program, PPE program, spill containment, and health hazard monitoring procedures.
This is an ADD-ON, not a substitute: a supervisor needs the same 40- or 24-hour worker-level training as their crew, plus these 8 hours.
