Work Zone & Flagger Safety

In a highway work zone, the thing most likely to kill you is a vehicle — and more often than not it belongs to your own crew, not the traveling public. This course covers the signs, signals, and barricades rules in 29 CFR 1926 Subpart G, the temporary traffic control framework in Part 6 of the MUTCD, the four TTC zones and taper geometry, channelizing devices, flagger signaling and station placement, high-visibility apparel, night work, and the internal traffic control practices that keep workers on foot away from moving equipment. IMPORTANT — this is an AWARENESS course, not a flagger certification. Completing it does NOT certify or qualify you to flag. Most states and state DOTs require a state-approved flagger certification, and many require an in-person or hands-on evaluation and periodic renewal. Your employer is responsible for ensuring every flagger is trained and certified to the requirements of the state and agency you are working in. Issues a Migna certificate of completion.
